PUBLIC WORKS ROAD CREW WORKER / LABORER

 

 (1) Vacancy - Union covered (after 90 day probation)

 

Lower Southampton Township is seeking applicants for one (1) full time Road Crew Worker / Laborer.  Desirable candidates should have experience in township Public Works maintenance, facility maintenance, custodial work, heavy equipment operator, able to lift 50 lbs and in good physical condition.  Worker will perform and participate in maintenance and repair tasks of all Township owned vehicles, properties, buildings, parks, grounds, streets, signs, drainage systems, sanitary sewer systems and pump stations.  All Public Works employees must participate in snow removal operations, road paving and on-call beeper duty (which includes nights, weekends and holidays).  Must possess a valid Pennsylvania Driver's License and must acquire a Commercial Driver's License before the end of their probation.  Applicants are subject to a pre-employment physical and drug and alcohol screening and random drug screening throughout their employment.  Applicant must supply current copy criminal history record check from https://epatch.state.pa.us upon offer of employment. Starting salary is $14.00/hour. Benefits are available after 60 days of employment. FIRE MARSHAL / EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT COORDINATOR

FIRE MARSHAL-FULL TIME

Exempt / managerial position

 

The Fire Marshal is responsible for the coordination and implementation of any and all fire code enforcement activities of the Township, including inspections, review of building plans, incendiary investigations and other activities in accordance with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.  Lower Southampton Township is seeking applicants for one (1) full time Fire Marshal Desirable candidates should be Firefighter 1 & 2 certified, Fire Inspector 1 in accordance with the State of Pa. UCC Dept. of Labor and Industry, Fire Officer 1 certified, CPR First Responder certified, VRT certified, Haz-Mat awareness certified. Operations level preferred. Candidate must have Fire Apparatus Driver-Operator Certification and NIMS certification – 100, 200, 700, 800, ICS NIMS Management. 300.

 

Candidate must be able to assume full responsibility for coordination of activities during emergency management situations and work with all people and organizations needed during emergencies. They must maintain, update, coordinate, disseminate and use the information contained in the emergency management manual. Maintain managerial control under potentially stressful conditions and work cooperatively with superiors, subordinates and peers. They must exercise a high degree of self-discipline and be able to communicate orally in the English language with the public in a one-to-one or group setting.  They must have knowledge of the operation of all Fire Department equipment and apparatus and have the ability to learn and observe proper safety precautions. They must have the computer skills necessary to electronically track fire inspections, incidents and investigative data which include but not limited to MS Word and Excel.

 

Candidate must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

 

           

Candidate must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.  College degree preferred. Salary range is $40,000-$55,000 per year.
