The community policing concept grew from the need of local law enforcement agencies to enlist the help of the public in meeting the problems brought on by a rising crime rate.  Simple law enforcement was no longer enough to battle crime.  Crime prevention and problem solving needed to be emphasized.

In an effort to better serve the community, Lower Southampton Police have developed the following community policing programs:

DARE – Drug Abuse Resistance Education

Town Watch

Home Security Surveys

Criminal Justice Explorer Post

Civilian Police Academy

Commercial/Retail Security Programs

Bicycle Safety Programs

Youth Aid Panel

Car Seat Safety Checks
